Well I guess I should use this category because I asked for it to be replaced.
So after some low life stole my 650 from behind locked gates and wheeled it away on skate board plateforms, and waiting for insurance to pay up $$$ ...
I decided due to house relocation and $2,000 down from payout to go with 250EFI (would have liked 400 but no go in Australia)
So the ride :-
I like it over 650 lot lower seat makes you feel more stable at stop and low speeds, have both feet flat with good bend in both knees.(5'10")
You could allmost (except for back rest) stand up and sit on the back.
Much better travelling through traffic then 650.
It is a little shorter from seat to bars and between knees and dash but not cramped.
My main ride now is 17klms to work (down from 50 before move) straight onto freeway 100kph (but mostly 50-80kph with traffic) then last 5klms or so back to 60kph.
Does 100kph no problems (would do 120 easy most likely 130+ if pushed)
Pritty good take off speed (no where near 650 off coarse)
Very quite idle and running
Good combined braking system (another reason to go with 250)
78mpg (4.5 litres)
Easy to change oil and filter (no panel removal ha ha)
With short cutts app. 2-3 hours to adjust tappets
Bigger main glove box, smaller side boxes
Washable foam air filter under seat easy to get to
As much under seat storage as 650
But first 1,000klms I had a very bad vibration coming up through the scooter from the clutch (on rear wheel) I was realy bad just as the clutch was at full locked up stage (4,000-4,500rpm)
I checked the clutch out (visually) at first service when I drained the oil all looked ok.
Due to holidays dealer has been closing to early for me to get there.
But to my suprise I took my daughter (16) to town to do what they do (shop)
The next day off to work what ? no vibration, could it be the extra load helped seat the belt in or that I still had shock on max. tention.
So on the way home I stopped and rest shock back to 3 (1-> 7 setting), of I go still almost all gone,each day it gets better allmost completely gone now.
Weird a ! ?
