Hello All!
New burgman owner here. 3mo now and I love it. Didn't know a "scooter" would rekindle my love of motorcycles since I haven't owned one in over 20 years but I feel like a kid again. Lol..

Question is. I'm wanting to upgrade my exhaust. From past experience I've enjoyed the deeper throaty sound and hp boost an after market muffler provides. But noticed the oem system is welded into one piece from the heads to the tip.
There's plenty of muffler cannisters on ebay and amazon to choose from that look great and sound great according to youtube videos. so has anyone done this? I'm not trying to spend 500-800 on a full exhaust system just seeing if I can get some advice before proceeding.
Thanks fellow burgers

Welcome Jason.

The 2002 up Burgman 650 has a Catalytic Converter inside the muffler. The 2007 up have a Lambda (O2 sensor) in the pipe.

If you cut the muffler part off, any weld shop can reweld a muffler can back on.
1. It will be much louder. There may be a way to tone it down.
2. You will NOT get any more power.

To get more power you'd need to do a few mods together.
1. Ram or Cold air intake.
2. Free flowing exhaust.
3. A re-map of the ECU done on a bike Dyno. A PowerCommander may work.

But with these mods you may gain 2-3 horsepower.

This is what a 2 cylinder sounds like with a CVT.

And such mod may not pass Euro sound limitations.
