Post 'em up! This doesn't have to be limited to scooter-related terms, but my initial list happens to be bike related.

I'll start:

Tupperware (unless you're talking about preserving food)
Cage / Cager (unless you're talking about things in the zoo)
Farkle (unless you're rolling dice)

+1 to Kory...these are biker terms, since we are bikers, what do you suggest we call them?

OEM Plastic Panel (now add description as to location and side)
four wheeled motor vehicle drivers/ four wheeled motor vehicles
Fancy Accessory Really Kewl Likely Expensive addition of an after market item for my bike

I'm just yanking your chain  - I take personal responsibility for introducing "FARKLE" to the BUSA community

My ears have heard "empower", "awesome", and "goddess" enough times

The phrase I hate the most: "Your call is very important to us, please hold for the next available operator" This is extremely irritating especially when you have been on hold for 30+ minutes and heard that same message once every minute and the rest of the time they are playing a recording that is telling you about their award winning service.

I can pitch in.

There is nothing in our society that is more useless, disingenuious, insincere, and annoying than when you meet a stranger and the first thing out of their mouth is "Hi! How are you?".

In a world with 6.5 BILLION people on this planet, I honestly don't believe anyone is interested in the well being of a stranger, especially when the answer is always the same: fine, good, or great. Or to demonstrate just how useless this is, the next time you watch a talk show, the host will ask it and most of the time the other person doesn't even reply. Call me cynical, but once you pay attention to the phenomenon, you'll be cringing at every one of these when you hear it like I am.

For sure there is a phrase I don't like. In fact I'm sure it is 'for sure'. I'm not sure why I don't like for sure, but for sure it is 'for sure'.

My nominations:

"I'll call you." They never do.

"To the max!" Max? Who is he? The max of what?

"LOL" They are not really laughing. Or if they are, it is a chuckle. The decline of the English language. . . .

and a +1 to the "Your call is very valueable to us. Please remain on the line and one of our representatives will be with you as soon as possible." If my call was so valueable, you would hire more phone agents to take it.

"Can you add this feature..."
"This change should be simple..."
"This other forum has..."
"It's only code..."

"Leaning Forward" (old Calvary term meaning riding in the stirrups, leaning forward over the horses neck) "Boss, we are leaning forward on that" (yeah, right)

"Nominal" - just say "We're good to go" and press on with life

"Basically". Since no one seems to be able to use it appropriately in a sentence, it should be stricken from the language.

"Go ahead and..." Every sentence that uses this makes perfect sense if you leave it out, so don't use it (unless you are a supervisor in the movie "Office Space" :) )

I ask people to not patronise me when they say basically.
