Wind - Clearview Windshield ?

Has anyone noticed the wind effecting their windshield? I am getting ready to purchase a large or x-large and I do a good amount of riding in the wind on the freeway over in Arizona. I have some concern that the windshield could be "grabbed" by the wind and make steering more difficult. Thank you for your comments. Shelley

I have a ClearView Large on my Executive and have
ridden the interstate quite often. Speeds in excess of 70 occasionally.

Several areas I travel thru have quite a crosswind at times and for
me the windshield seems to make no difference in how the scoot handles

I think this would be more of a problem for conventional, naked type motorcycles. On a Burgman, the windshield is more directly connected to the frame than to the front wheel. Also, no problems with my Large CV at speeds up to 85mph.

I have a clearview XXL. I haven't noticed any difference in the scooter's behavior in the wind other than a lot more wind resistance from the front when moving fast. (80+ indicated)

Wind gusts from the side seem to have no effect on my balance because of the screen, but are more noticible to me because if there is no crosswind I have pretty much no wind noise in my helmet. If a gust hits me from the side I hear it in the helmet and feel it on my jacket. I think it's actually easier to track straight because most of the cross wind is off of my arms so I don't jerk the bars around (which is what causes most rocking back and forth in the wind)

I love my huge windscreen but I noticed it's harder to stay cool when the temps climbed over 80 this past week. I'm experimenting with the vent and may change gloves to take care of that issue.

I have seen no trouble with wind affecting my 650 exec with a medium CW. I agree with AustinBurger that the fact it is attached to the body rather than the Fork/handlebars is the key. I ride here in the middle of Kansas and wind is the norm. The shield I had on my Virago would get pulled around by side winds. So far no stability effect on the Burgy. You do still have to lean into the wind a bit but thats the nature of 2 wheeling.

I have the Large Clearview and I believe the above is true. A frame mounted front fairing/windshield is less likely to affect your steering. I am 5/10 and can just see over it....which is a good thing in rain. Mine is tinted and has the vent installed. Regarding gusts....you know how semi's hit you with gusty backwash, when you are passing them or when they pass you coming the other way? Well, I concluded the worst part of the gusty effect was on ME and not on the bike, so I often tuck down behind the windshield when I encounter one. It seems to definitely help. When you are being tossed around a little, you can get the illusion that the bike is getting tossed around, too. Also, if you are getting tossed around, you are likely accidentally making steering inputs, to make things worse.
