I think the power is fine, but I would like to see a slightly larger machine, (bigger tires & suspension upgrade). The 650 is great for touring (power wise), but the ride could be better.

If thats the only way to get a better ride, is with a bigger engine, I would go that route.

 

You left out "larger (or taller) windscreen". I tested several scoots, and all had the same problem.... windscreen wouldn't keep the wind out of my face.

So I got the Burgman 650 because of a better deal and the most HP in the bunch. My GIVI windscreen is on it's way.

I agree with Jim, and would add that a larger fuel capacity would turn the 650 into the mile-gobbler it really wants to be.

 

Just please, consider this. Much bigger, bigger tires, bigger heavier engine, and you start dealing with all of the reasons we got off of conventional motorcycles in the first place.

Oh, and my vote is for a bigger windscreen from the factory.

What I want most is a better quality suspension. Ride quality could easily be improved without compromising handling. A bigger engine sounds nice at first, but it would likely bump the machine into a higher insurance bracket. Not sure that I'd want that.

I'll second that. Mine is great on smooth highway roads, but brutal on choppy in-town streets.

 

Bigger tires, better suspension, little louder pipes, passenger footpegs.

Again, agree with PauljoMan - Better suspension (air adjustable), plus (imo) a bigger tank.... but, more gas!? - Plumb it through the frame! (way too intricate tho.. ) plus (imo) a smaller arse, another 200cc (or an iddy-biddy supercharger), and a "grabbier" manual mode! I prsnly don't like that big booty on my pie - but - hey i like the upswept pipe on mine but I'd like a bit more grumble from the thumble! :wink: ! go figure.

If I'm touring I'll strap the stuff down or hang it off the side. Just leave me enough space under the seat for a xxl helmet, a subwoofer, gloves, a few odds and ends, and a big leather jacket.

Just make this baby unload the forks when I hit 2nd!! :twisted:

I think the tall windscreen available in Canada would be perfect for me. My GIVI is about 2 inches too tall for me, and the stock is a good 6 inches too short.

Actually, I had one more selection: both A & C, but the poll only allowed four choices.

Don't know why, it would just cost more, use more gas, and insure for more.

Yeah, the purpose of this poll is: if there is one change needed...
Thus, perhaps Suzuki can keep 400 and 650 the way they are today, and add to the lineup an AN850 or AN1000 with the body of an AN750.

 

As far as I know, there has never been a Burgman 800. I think that is an error on that website.

We need more things to play with on the Burgy - Why no stereo and Cruise control? This thing rides like a BMW tour bike, so why not equip it like one? I need options!

For in-town riding (and crossing TX-LA border), I let out air from my tires and change the stiffness to 1.

 

I vote storage! Last week-end, I was looking at a 400
at the dealership. No fair! Their gas cap was in the center
hump! All the 650 needs is some extra cool looking saddle
bags, but then there is the side gas cap. Some of the pictures
I have seen here with the travel trunks look great, but I want
the weight lower for handling for my wife. Plus, saddle bags
make a bike look so much fatter & lower in the rear (cool on
a bike, but bad on me )

 

Larger gas tank. 150 miles is not enough. A 5.5 gallon tank.5 for reserve 6 gallon total would be perfect to me. You could tour 250 plus on a tank. More options radio, trunk for more storage. Better suspension.

 

I'll be happy just to be able to ride mine...I've decided on adding Givi windscreen, self cancelling turn signals and the chrome eye candy. A bigger tank would be nice though.
