Sound when signalling

On a vacation on a greek island I just got back from, I rented a 125cc Peugeot scooter. One thing I found was very good with this one was that it beeped when I signalled left/right. Does the burger do this ? My yammy doesn't so I'm just curious if you suzuki owners have this on your scooters ?

My 650 doesn't make any noise when the turn signal is on. I wouldn't probably hear it with my helmet on, anyway.
But I still on rare occasion forget to cancel the signal. Luckily it hasn't caused me any grief so far.

I do hear it with my 3/4 helmet on . In fact I wraped foam around it to make it quieter. The only time I don't hear it is above 70 mph, Indicated. (expressway, only on for lane change anyway). My son can hear my beeper, while on his bike with a full face helmet on.

I tried the Jac Vinson turn signal beeper kit, and it was too loud for me (embarrasingly so). I sounded like a truck with a reverse gear warning beeper when I was stopped at a light with the turn signal on. It will, however, get you to turn off your blinker.

Note: I think Jac did switch to a lower decible beeper shortly after I bought my kit.

I went to the Jac V. website because I, too, have been interested in wanting to find an "audible reminder" for my directionals. But I've thus far noted only the ''650'' was being mentioned.

Can it (and if so, how can it) be installed on the "Little Sister" as well?

How easy/complicated was installing it? (Asking as a person who NEVER tampers with his motorcycles for any sort of "customizations.")

Are there any other options in this area available that anybody knows of? (I would actually prefer a "clicking" type of sound, but whatever works will work, as far as I'm concerned.)

Thank you ~

Jac's beeper kit can be installed on the 400. He did that at Scootercade last year. Installation is not tough. If you have an issue, Jac will help you over the phone or via email. I needed some help with the wiring when I did mine (I am an electrical illiterate). Called Jac and he walked me through it.

Ya know what? I think that a pair of big a-- lights, rather than the lil flashing turn arrows would do just as well as a garbage truck backing up sound thingie... Mount them just outboard of the "hump" on the instrument "dashboard" before it goes "downhill". Or maybe "pinlights" on top of the rearviews...like my grandmas Chrysler Newport out there at the fendertips...Heck - maybe just ONE bright, in your face light flashing light...any of those would be enough to make me think - "Oh yeah - my turn dinker is still on..." 8) - Might screw up night vision tho....

I just HATE warning "sounds" though....brings back memories of buzzers and seat belts.

You know that would be an effective idea, too, if the configuration could be integrated seamlessly enough so as not to stand-out too obviously.

Actually, a "sound device" could still serve a practical purpose as a "backing up" feature to use in conjunction with the flashing "Hazard Lights" which I use each time I back the scooter out into a driveway area or onto the main road.

Perhaps your idea of mirror-mounted "pinlights" along with an "audible hazard blinker" system would be an incorporation of the best of both worlds!
