I deceided to go with a different set of lights on my new Burgman. I had the Motolights on my 2003 Burg but wanted a wider light pattern.
I bought a set of PIAA 1400 http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/1400.html
I only "Gheto" rigged them for now. I will remove the yellow zip tie. Just wanted to mount them for now. I removed the front fork reflectors and used a small shelf bracket as a mount. Will wire them up later if I get more time.

I also installed a set of PIAA Extreme white plus to replace the stock headlamps. http://www.piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulbs-H4.html

hey greengoose,
im very interested in just how long those pia Extreme white plus last you at that price. I bought the sylvania h4 bright lights and really love them, but the high beam does not seem to last that long (about 3 months) and wil then only show the low beam, so please keep me posted unless you have expierence with the pia brand.
look forward to your comments

How do you plan to wire them?

I wired them thru the left side of the bike directly to the battery. The on / Hot was wired to the back side of the 12vdc socket. The switch was mounted inside th elocking glove box.

Oh, my God! Huggies! Do they still make them, Greengoose? (People notice all sorts of things in the background of posted photographs, whether you want them to or not).

Somewhere, in the deep, dark recesses of my brain I seem to remember what they're used for. But I think that was in another lifetime.

In the intervening two decades since I last saw Huggies in my house, haven't they managed to come up with a better waste management and disposal system than that?

Cherish the moment...

My son, home from college for a short Easter vacation break, was here a few minutes ago. Threw two huge bags of dirty clothes inside the back door.

"Hi, Dad, I'll be back for these tomorrow. Going to a friend's house for the night. Bye, Dad."

Umm, and tomorrow, I thought, after he'd left, are these clothes to be different somehow? Like, maybe clean? And who might, perchance, do that?

And it seems like just yesterday, upon the orders of my wife, I had to run out in the middle of the night to buy a new package of Huggies for that little varmit.

Cherish the moment.

Hey, sorry for the innapropriate post - has nothing to do with auxilliary lighting, or anything like that.

Last night I tested out the new lights. I drove around to the back side of a super market to align my fog/driving lamps. I made sure the upper part of the beam stayed below the low beam spots on the wall. I tilted the individual lamps slightly outward to provide more side spill. I am very pleased with the lighting. Fantastic front fill. Good side spill. No upwards blinding light to oncomming traffic. The light is vivid white just like the new piaa replacement headlamp bulbs. Great combination. I like the lighting of these over the Motolights. The Motolights physically look much nicer on the bike.

The past few nights I have taken the wife out for an evening drive to break-in the new Exec. I am so happy with the light combination. The light is so white and vivid. For me its a mandatory upgrade. I am totally pleased with the performance of these lights. :D
