I'd like to know if anyone out there had tried a gel seat cover for the Burgman seat? If so, what do you think of it, did it fit, how much did it cost, and where did you get it from?

I have not seen a cover for the seat, but I do have Gel Pads (made by Travelcade). I got mine at a local dealer and they strap on the seat and use velcro. They are about 1/2" thick, so it may affect the rider height, it did with me. I ended up installing them (passinger also) under the cover, inset in the foam. They don't make the ride softer, but are designed to reduce vibration, for the bike, and sudden jolts from the road. It has worked well for me. Pics. in my Gallery.

I got a really nice pad for my seat from geltecproducts.com. It is around $100. It doesn't strap on but has a non slip surface on one sid that doesn't slide off even when the seat is raised. It lengthened my ability to enjoy long rides by 2 or 3 times the time I am comfortable on the seat. :D

Do a web search "custom motorcycle seats", lot of places will take your money, almost all offer gel pads, buy them out-right or installed.
I have had a little luck with a 10 dollars hunters air seat pad from W-mart. I got the tip from here and it does help, well worth 10 bucks.
But I am going the full custom route (most likely Russell) . For me one of the big problems is the overall shape of the seat, and even extra padding does not change that. :(

I tried the gel seat and airhawk. I had the orginal seat customized. I wasn't happy until I got the corbin seat. My wife and I both love the corbin and can ride all day on it. expensive but I believe the best way to go. I wish I had bought it before trying everything else. It sure would have saved a bunch on money.

Yeah, but hearing of what's been tried, those of us who will be buying in the future can hopefully capitalize what's been learned and figure our own route. Me, if the stock seat didn't work, I'd go immediately with a Corbin. It just makes sense.
