Looks like you ran it to death on the freeway. I may have suggested a compression check in your post on it being a piece of poop. My opinion, worth what you are paying for it, is to get a scooter with an engine displacement big enough to last on a high diet of freeway riding. I don't know what you should do.

Edited:

I should stay out of this and let the UH200 members answer most questions. But....

Just my opinion but a 200cc bike run at max RPM for most of its 30,000 miles...... ITS DONE!!
Sorry.

Again, IMHO, Suzuki did not design this 200cc to be a freeway flier. It would last a lot longer running at 35-45 MPH but some will try to push them to 75 MPH for hours.

In this "Exterame Usage" I would say that the oil would need to be at the FULL mark exactlly, EVERY time, no exceptions, never ever let it get as low to the ADD mark.... Then oil changes at 1,500 miles or less.

If JUST the rings are worn out then a cheap (??) re-ring maybe get you another 30,000 miles.
But that is a big MAYBE.

But I'd bet there is damages to the piston and cylinder walls too.

But if the cylinder walls are worn you CAN NOT over bore these as they have a special coating to the cylinder walls. So you would need a new cylinder, new piston and new rings.

I knew a guy that worked at Starbucks HQ in Seattle. He lived on a 40 acre ranch and he commuted 71 miles each way every day, about 35,000 miles a year. Even in the snow of a mountain pass, just slower in the corners.
His choice of commuting was a Kawasaki Ninja 250. He would put it on I-90 and go flat out at 85-110 MPH.

In the 2 years I knew him he burnt out 3 of these Ninjas. But the costs of the bike and gas was a lot less than his car so he did not care.
And Starbucks was paying everyone commuting Car Pooling. bus or on motorcycles a commuter bonus.

He got what he paid for and was fine with it...

So, not to be harsh, just saying... If you decode to scrap this UH200 and replace it... Buy a 400+ cc bike. Skip the 200, 300, 350 engines if your riding styles will not change. Yes it may use more gas but it will out live any 200-350 cc engine at high speeds.

Okay guys here's the real deal about myself: I rode this bike on the freeway @60mph.
Yes it can do 70 going down hill and redlining it is foolish. IMO stop and go on surface streets does more wear on a engine than cruising @60mph. Yeah a 250 model would've been nice but i didn't have the $$$ at the time.
I saw a complete used engine on eBay delivered for $300-600. I suppose the motors can be swapped out but who knows how many miles are on the motors. I get that @30K miles these bikes are getting tired but they should still be able to still fire up but not run as well as they use to. Does that make any sense?

There are known cases of engines with less than 100 miles not starting ....Gas-Compresion-Spark all need to happen at the right time. If I were you I’d look for a used B400 while rebuilding the B200 for someone that rides to bingo nights at the retirement community.

Here are three basic tests I would do.

1. A dry compression test to see how high the PSI is.

2. A wet Compression test with enough oil squirted in to coat the piston rings. This will temporly seal them so the compression will be higher. This lets them know if the piston rings or Valve guides are worn. If the compression goes up a lot, its rings. If it does not go up much at all, its the valve guides.

3. A Leak Down test where they screw in a sparkplug adapter and push 60 PSI into the cylinder at top dead center. This pressure will leak past any loose space. If the rings are loose it will leak into the crankcase. If a valve is stuck open it will blow air into the intake or exhaust.

If this was a scooter I really liked, and the rest of the scooter in good condition, I would consider a rebuild, which could, probably include a valve job. Once they get into the engine they may also find other wear, possibly crank bearings. 30,000 miles on a single cylinder engine is low average, for needing rebuild, some do last a lot longer. As you are seemingly fed up with the scooter you may be a lot happier going to a new and different machine. It's value now is really low, needing repair.

I purchased a pulled engine before. I never knew the real mileage. and I never will. hard to know the history, the condition and if the mileage is genuine as they say. you have to go by peoples word of mouth on reputation of the store. if you buy from ebay you can at least take some relief that if the engine doesnt hold in the short run, you may negotiate. i do hope you find a good solution.
i empathize with you. I know exactly what you went through. I did as well.

I had a Honda 650 single that started burning oil at a rate to great to trust on longer rides. I had no great love for the beast so advertised it honestly at a big loss for what I paid for it. Sold it to a mechanic who wanted it for parts. I was glad to see it go. All the vehicles in the garage I want to be dependable. I probably spend extra money on maintenance to keep them in good running order.

the eBay seller of a complete engine delivered for $600 claims that it had 3,000 miles it.
It looks almost new. It even comes with the tranny all in one package. I'm thinking this would be the most economical way to go. Yeah I'll be out $900 from this whole ordeal but the engine/tranny would be like new. What do you guys think?
Or I can just scrap it sell it for whatever. I see a 2014 Honda forza 300 with 8,000 mi for sale $2500

any warranty on either private sellers or stores ?

I never take anyones word anymore. been burned too many times. its a claim but can not be verified. if it was on the crashed bike you could turn it on and see the odometer on the dash. read his feedback from buyers and the items he sold. if he has engines in the feedback then most likely people were happy so thats a greatt sign. do you know how to mount the engine? refill and bleed the cooling system. ive not seen a parted engine being sold without transmission. maybe you meant cvt cover with belt/clutch etc inside? ask him if it does include that and also see if it includes the throttle body as one unit. ask him if the oil drain bolt is stripped. hahah. im laughing at myself.

with the forza, great bike. some more power, larger, more comfort. a different level obviously. .280cc engine. maintenance is a bit more expensive but I think time between maintenance is longer. the b400 cost almost the same money as my sym joyride200 because the maintenance was twice as long between them. I think for $2500 you could already get a b400 which is a different level than the forza. the b400 is a proven reliable engine. part galore available for pretty cheap. large userbase over forza for sure. tons of info.

Hey guys I really want to thank everyone that contributed in this ordeal. It has been heartbreaking but after some serious soul searching I'm moving on to a gixer. I checked on eBay and there are 2 motors for sale with 2K and 3K mi on them for $600 total shipped.
I have a brand new front tire and the rest of the bike is in good condition. I'm selling it for best offer in the classified section. If anyone is interested I can shoot pics or videos of the bike.
Thank you

17,500 on mine ('16) so far, a good portion of that at 65MPH (69 indicated) on the freeway -- sometimes up to 70 (75-ish) but not for more than a few minutes at a time.
Engine itself seems ok. Maybe it's half worn out and I don't know it? Dunno.
