58º this morning when I got up. I put on a light jacket to get Murphy the cat some outdoor time before I got out on the Burgman 200 for a ride. And speaking of jackets: it was cool enough to wear an armored mesh jacket this morning. I prefer to wear armored gear when riding, but has been too **** hot, even with a cooling vest, since June. This was refreshing!

No camera or drone, but I did stop on the uncrowded road to get a couple photos with my phone (no traffic)...

With that 2" rain we got about 10 days ago, the desert is green again - I even saw a bright green ocotillo blooming with orange flowers (they generally only bloom for a short time in the spring).

I waited until after 8:00 to avoid the school/commuter traffic on the surface streets that get me to the good riding. I had the opportunity to test out the ABS brakes on the Burgman when a tree-trimming service truck pulling a large trailer pulled to the right lane (I was in the left lane), stopped, then started a U-turn without using a turn signal!. The ******* would have taken me off the road if I hadn't stopped in time. To make matters worse, he couldn't complete the turn in the street, and pulled across the driveway to a firehouse... as the garage door was opening and a firetruck was trying to pull out with their lights on. In my mirror, I saw someone from the firehouse trying to wave that driver off. There's a lot of stupid out there.

Definitely the desert is cooling down at nights now. Still warm afternoons.
