What year is your 650?

HERE YOU GO.

"C50" CVT SERIAL COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

"C51" CVT MOTOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

The manual gives some voltage tests to make on some of the wires. Check to be sure all connections are tight on the CVT motor and wiring and ECM. Test the motor and wiring, if OK, replace the ECM. See the Manual.
Cheers!

Those early models had separate controllers for engine and CVT. There was an issue with the two talking to each other that would cause the C50 and C51 codes. I remember folks talking about it in my early days on the board. Don't remember what the solution to it was.

In 2005 Suzuki went to a single ECU to handle both functions. That was the year I got my first 650 so did not have to deal with it.

OK, we now know its a 2002 650 and as Buffalo said separate controllers for the 2002-2004 model years. I think there was a recall back in 2003 for the ECU.

You said you were near Tamworth? NSW Australia? England? New Hampshire USA? I may be willing to let you try my spare set of 2003 controllers as I am not using them right now. But shipping and return to NSW or England is $$$.

In the meantime...........Welcome to the BurgmanUSA from Sunny Tampa Bay Florida USA...... So you're and Aussie then? Please fill out your User Profile in the Control Panel and let us know where in the world you are, what bike you ride and maybe a little about yourself. We'll help you out all we can. But that bike you got is an OLD one, I think most of us here haven't worked on those OLD ones that much. But it may work out yet.
One thing that sure caught my attention, was in your last post you mentioned that you got the CVT replaced with a "brand new one", or does that mean that someone rebuilt it, or you had a rebuilt one put in? It could be the CVT has a problem or else it wasn't put in correctly. So there's a lot of unanswered questions here. So please, tell us the whole story from the begining and don't leave nothing out.
And hope yer heart is feelin better these dayz.
Willow Tree NSW, a nice little town right where Merriwa Road meets the New England Highway. I can see the big electronic sign above the road and you've got speed cameras! Welcome to the Age of Technology Down Under!
I've always been interested in Ayers Rock in the Northern Territory, I would like to have tried to climb it with my dirt bike back in my hill climbing days. Don't think my Burgman could handle it though!

Cheers!
