1) Are there any years that are considered better/best for a used Burgman 400?
2) Is there a year over year differences web page for the Burgman 400?

Thx

I’d say the 2007 is an improvement over the earlier models.
The newer engine doesn’t burn oil at speed like the older one for a start.

There were minor improvements in 08-09 (clutch, CVT breather) and then the 2010 got some engine and gearing improve to (slight power increase, higher rpm and longer legged gearing) but these were all incremental changes. The 07 has the bulk of improvements over earlier models so might be best bang for your buck.

ABS - Was an OPTION pre- 2011 (In Europe at least.... My friend's AN400 L0, (so model year 2010) but registered in 2011, does not have ABS.

The 2007 - 2009 machines have the tachometer redline at 8500 RPM, later machines are at just over 9000.
The 07-09 final drive gear ratio is 5.904 , 2010 and up is 6.484.
2007 machines came with a 3 shoe clutch, later ones have five shoes, which can be retro- fitted to earlier bikes.
The major change (2007 and up) was the introduction of the 400cc DOHC setup, with shimmed valve clearances. Previous 385cc engines (2002 - 2006 in USA) are screw and locknut method.
Far simpler to do, but adjustment required much more often - If you follow "the book".
