I removed my stock tire at 8650 miles and had a Shinko mounted to the rim, then reinstalled the rim. Much easier than working on the clutch side! Although after I did that I changed the final drive oil and give the clutch shoes along with everything else a good cleaning.

Ya think I needed the Shinko! LOL

How long do the Shinkos last on the 400? Let us know. Or if someone has experience with them, do tell.

I use them in my 650 because the bike chews through tires and Shinkos are cheap. But I'm happy with the tire's performance.

On the 400 I always run Dunlop Scooterline; 10-12k on both front and back. If the Shinkos do the same, maybe I'll give them a try.

My last two sets both went around 9000 miles on the back, about twice that on the front until they got scalloped and I replaced them. They handle very well to, quite happy with mine.
