Went out this morning to go for a ride and found that the scoot won't start. Every thing seems to be working cranks just fine but no start. Look at the owners manual to see what fuse it might be and it seems(did not meter them) that all the things attached to a fuse for ignition, fuel pump and etc are working. Had it started 3 or 4 times on Friday and it started right up. Head lights, power window, trunk light, starter solenoid so don't see it being a fuse. Only 80 miles since last fill up so it has fuel. Off to the dealer on a trailer I guess only 4000 miles on the 2012.

Put a jumper wire across the test connector and see what diagnostic code you get on the display. Post that here if you don't have access to a manual.

Put it on the center stand, hold the throttle open while you crank it. If it starts it will probably run a little ragged and you will have to hold the throttle open until it smooths out.

I'm very thankful for the advice in this forum. I had the" cranks, won't start" problem after overhauling the water pump and replacing hoses. The job involved removing the battery carrier as well as the center plastic and I thought I had messed up a connector during reassembly when it wouldn't start. Before tearing it all apart, I cranked while twisting the throttle as recommended. After about 25 seconds it started to fire and then ran fine. I don't know if the ECM had to go through some sort of reset or if low fuel had a role, since I had run in down before servicing. The advice was golden. Thanks.
