Hello, i Wonder which one would be the best for Wind protection . I am 5'11'' tall and with OEM windshield i get Wind on top of my helmet, if i lean just a little, like 3 inches lower, i get no Wind at all and it is a lot more quiet. I Wonder which between Clearview XXL and Givi will be the best. they have different shape and it could be very significant on Wind protection.

windshield

I just bought a used 2007 Burgman 650 with the Givi and stock windshields. I'm 5'11" and found the Givi to be just a little too tall for my taste (your opinion may be different). I end up looking through the top 2 or 3 inches of plexiglass, which is disturbing when fog accumulates and I'm riding into the sun (happens a lot around here on my normal commute). I found a shop that will trim off the top if I mark it. I do like the hand extensions on the side of the Givi - sure that will be nice in colder weather.

Another alternative is to Google "LeDude Burgman" site and look at his shim mod for the stock windshield. It involves making spacers to move the mounting bracket away from the fairing by about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. This allows some air to flow underneath to moderate the pressure difference and reduce turbulence. Since the top of the bracket is spaced farther out than the bottom, it should also make the windshield more vertical, effectively raising the height of the shield. I did a similar mod on my old VStrom and it was amazing how much difference it made.

Good luck.

Can't help you with what size would be best for you, but I'm 5'8" and got a Clearview XL and had it trimmed down about an inch at a plastics fabrication shop in my area.

Personally, I think the quality of the material and optics are better on the Clearview. Although I love the Givi Airflow on my 400 for its effectiveness, it's plastic seems inferior to that of the Clearview on my 650. Givi seems 'consumer quality' and Clearview seems 'aviation quality.'

Just my 2 cents.

I have a vented Clearview on my 650 and my friend has a GIVI on his. We both prefer the Clearview (XL). It appears to be higher quality, it comes in different heights and it is the only one that you can use RainX on.

You have a 650 exec.
I'm 5'11" with 32" inseam and have a Clearview Large, tinted with vent.
Can see over the top in down position, through when all the way up.
If you are of similar proportions, the top edge of the XXL will probably be close to your line of sight when all the way down.
