Based on what u fine people told me, I bought a gallon of Shell Rotella T6 synthetic "heavy duty diesel" 5w-40 oil. PLEASE let me know if that "diesel" designation will be ok in my 2009 400.

I use it in my 400, my 650, AND the 28 year old Yanmar 2-cylinder diesel on my sailboat. The Yanmar could probably use a cheaper oil, but I baby it because I can't afford to replace it. Runs smooth as silk. God bless the Japanese.

Got to love those Yanmar diesels. Have on in my 18 year old tractor. It's surviving well on a diet of Rotella and Fram oil filters.

I thought this would be a typical OIL thread :blob4: but it ended peacefully instead :D

Had a 1986 MF with 3 cyl diesel Japanes motor, also smooth as silk on Rotella dino until I let it go, reluctantly, two years ago for a Kioti with hydrostatic and power steering. Never used a drop of oil, changed every 50 hours. Kioti gets same diet.
