The frames are the same so it should fit. However you might or might not run into computer issues. The engine, ECM, and dash on these bikes interface with each other and if the coding has changed then you might have to also replace the dash and/or ECM. I know some folks that have tried using later model 650 engines in earlier model frames have had to do that. Unless you can find someone that has made this particular swap you won't know until you try it.

Found a salvaged 2011 engine&trans for $900. Will there be any problems swapping these in my 2007?
Why do you want to :?:

Are you be able to be more specific?
Which bearing, what mileage, circumstances, history. :)

On the black boxes I meant ECM / Dash and the like.

Yes us with 07's would like some more info please. Mine has 46k+ miles with no engine problem, well except it thinks it's a HD and marks it spot at times.

The bearing between engine and variator. Started to notice metal shavings in oil, about 10k miles later, failure. 38,000 miles.

I gather, by breaker, you meant the one dismantling the scooter; I was confused by the term.

Yes, they have the ECM (they called it an ECU), the main harness, and two smaller harnesses, but the instrument cluster is not functional. Should that do the trick?

The service guy said he can't be sure the 2011 engine, ECU, and harnesses would function properly with the 2007 instrument panel. He suggested I ask you guys. (I kind of got the feeling he was pretty busy)

So, where might I find that information?

Optionally, would the new ingredients function well enough to be rideable, with the panel being changed later?

I can't remember anyone on here ever talking about making this paticular swap so I don't think you will get a definitive answer. You may hook it all up and everything will work just fine. Or you may get an FI code and the bike will not run. Only way to find out is give it a try.
