Oh, forgot to mention that Kymco made the engine for the BMW C650 for a time. For the later models of that scooter BMW decided on a cheaper Chinese company for the engine and quality went way down. Part of why they dropped that model.

While not a scooter, I can’t help but think the embarrassing sales of the unusual Honda NM4, scared the decision makers into fearing anything but the standard ol bike styling for a while in the US
The spouse of a friend of mine just bought one and loves it.

I'm not blown away by the styling, but I think I could deal with it.

It's kinda weird if you're looking at it through the eyes of an American motorcycle consumer, though.

Honestly, I'm not sure who the audience is for this bike. Don't get me wrong... I get it. But on one hand, who rides a scooter OFF ROAD?
It's not for riding off-road (though you could and it'll do an ok job of it).

It's a re-styled PCX for guys who wouldn't be caught dead on a PCX.

Matter of fact I am the 'droid they're looking for, fugly bodywork and all
I take my SYM HD200 down fire roads and the like. A bit more suspension would be nice so I do have an eye on the ADV150 and wish it was as quick as my old SYM so it could get to and hold ~70mph vs. ~65. They can be modified but I am a fan of stock for durability and warranty.
Unfortunately I haven't found one live around here. They've been selling out faster than hotcakes at an over-eaters anonymous banquet last I checked.

We ARE getting the ADV 150 (or maybe already have? My local Honda dealership says they are getting one for the showroom floor). So MAYBE... we'll get the larger X model IF the 150 sells very well. But I seriously doubt it.

with America's woke war on energy production, gas could easily double in price. Then you'll see scooters ruling the roads.

Jeeez. At least get your right-wing jargon straight!

You should have used "socialist" there instead, since you were attacking governmental regulation of markets.

"Woke" is for mocking Critical Race Theory and other inequality issues.

Hope you are right. My '09 650 is starting to age.

We will be seeing vehicles phasing over to electric in our lifetime. Once someone develops a solid state battery that can recharge in 15 minutes we won't be talking about displacement anymore with scooters but amperage and electric motor specifications. The new Tesla model S tops off at 200 mph and 0-60 in 2 seconds.

that un that went into space, was slow to accelerate, but by golly it had a great top end !
Actually it had a better than average Tesla acceleration with the help of the rocket that launched it. But definitely a great top end.
