The larger Givi aftermarket windscreen looks sweet but hoping to hear from those who have it & their impressions.

I could probably get by with just a taller windscreen extension for Fall Touring.

But come winter the fuller protection looks helpful.

That looks very classy & very much an improvement over stock.

Do you notice any improvement in the crosswind buffeting area ?

I had 2 o8 400's both had oem screens, both replaced with the big givis , the difference between the oem screen and the givi was so good , I changed the oem in my second bike , by myself, with a broken collar bone and 4 broken ribs, couldn't wait to get rid of that sop oem screen !

I have a Givi, AirFlow, 2 piece windshield; it made a big difference over stock. The ride comfort was much improved.
The only drawback, is that it protects, almost too good. In hot weather, I'd actually like some wind on me.

I have an Ermax with the handguard area. I ordered directly from Ermax over the pond. I'm not a tall windscreen guy, I've cut down or custom ordered every bike I've owned. I prefer to look over them. I ordered stock size, although they offer a taller version and different tints available if you choose. My experience, they rank up there in best customer service and communication available. Good experience/good shield. GIVI makes good stuff as well, I prefer the shape/look of the Ermax. (IMHO) I will also be ordering the "sport screen" in dark tint to get me more air, it's hot and hotter in Florida. Probably not an option for your needs though.

Wow guys thanks that's a pretty good endorsement. I'll put that near the top of my "Upgrade" list.

Meanwhile, I've just had a not - so - fun mechanical issue that will sideline my 'accessorizing' efforts.
The Burgie suddenly quit, unceremoniously, engine dies and won't restart. It was running fine & fully hot and I crossed a speed bump and BOOM - died.

So, gotta attend to that now, then back to windscreen upgrades, etc.

I bought my 08 AN400 about a year ago. It came with the tall / wide Givi screen.
I like the screen but couldn’t stand looking “thru” it.
So I cut off 2 or 3 inches.
i like it a lot better now.

Also can you say if Givi makes a vented model ?
All I saw were non-vented.
Wasn't sure if those would be a tad warm on a sunny summer day !

Also can you say if high speed buffeting is reduced at all vs the stock model ?

cut them rabbit ears off the stock screen and the buffeting will drop a lot!

I never owned a 400 Burgman, nor a Givi windscreen (just some of their topcases), but I did own two 650s for a total of 11 years, and had Clearview windscreens on both of them. So I can attest to the high quality of Clearview products.

I mention this because I also had their vent option on both scoots (and they have tint options, too). Take a look here, if you're interested:

As ever, model types are being mixed in same thread.
His 2008 screen will not suit your 2006.
2007+ OEM screen is oft criticized, but cannot be compared to 2006 and earlier.
Totally different shape. Different seating / eye-line height.

Yes I don't see "Rabbit Ears" on mine.

Should I write a signature line with my year & model to reduce confusion ?

Clearview does have vent/no vent options as well as different heights. Really like mine and construction is top notch!

Ok I was looking at the Clearview site & trying to figure which size of theirs L or XL are similar to the GIVI, the latter of which appears to be just one size.

I'm on a fixed budget so cost is a factor too.

the 2 round bulges on the outer edges that are higher than the center part of the screen is what i was refewrring to, on my 08 you could see them flopping in the windstream letting air "chunks" whack your helmet

I'm just trying to lessen side & frontal wind turbulence.

Let me explain why: In our 'neck of the woods' we have FM roads which are like Secondary Texas Highways, not really State Route Highways but those larger arterial large roads that lead to them.

Ok, well the speed limit on them is normally 55 or 60, but in the real world most cars go 60-65 and the occasional big semis do too, mainly the ones hauling chicken feed or livestock etc.

Well, there you are, on a fairly narrow maybe good, but probably somewhat old marginally paved Highway, one lane each direction, and a Semi going 65-70 just blows past you, going opposite direction, separated by about 10 feet & a dotted yellow paint stripe.

The blast of wind is significant. In a car or truck its there but not noticed.

I sure do notice it on the Scoot !

My impression is that a larger - both taller & wider Screen covering all of my body frontal presentation and hands too, would likely punch a cleaner hole in the air, and maybe be less turbulent too.
