Hi All,

I am new to this forum and suzuki burgman. I recently bought a suzuki burgman 650 which has running lights installed. Those lights do not switch with head lights or anything and not able to find how to switch on them.

I haven't bought it from owner and there is no information on those. I am not sure if those are fully installed or not and if they are working. I will upload photo of my burgman soon to show those lights.

is there any suggestion on where to look?

Thanks for your time in advance.

First welcome to the forum. It would be good if you would add your location to your profile so we would have some idea if you are talking about a USA spec bike or one from another country. Their are differences.

If you are talking about a USA spec bike then I assume you are talking about aftermarket running lights that have been added to the bike because they are not offered as an option here. Many folks that add those do not put a separate switch on them. They just wire them to come on when the ignition is switch on.

If you are talking about the lights in the mirrors, those do not come on as running lights unless you modify the stock wiring. They only function as turn signals.

Buffalo, is post is spot on. We need more info. For example the 2013 model 650 Burgman has new running lights, but previous models do not have them as factory standard. But you refer to a previous owner so I'd assume it is not a 2013 model... but one never knows.

The switch if there was/is one, could be hidden inside one of the little storage compartments/dash cupboards up front. Are there any switches on the area around the handlebar plastics (often referred to as "tuppwerware" - which means all the plastic panels in general). There might be a fuse that any wiring is tapped into or a separate fuse. The driving lights themselves might need to have the filaments checked depending on type. Maybe the wiring was removed or not even put in place.

Getting all the front tupperware off, is actually pretty straight forward, if you take your time. The first time, I read a little here on how to... but by the time I got round to it, I'd forgotten most of what I had read. I've played with all kinds of vehicles, bikes and other electronic and mechanical objects/items over the years so I just worked my way through a logical process and sequence and removed all the tupperware off my Burgies ( got 2).

OP if you don't feel confident, then try laying down and look up and under where the lights are located if possible, and try to see or follow any wiring as far as you can, back to where it connects etc.

Photos might help.

Welcome to the forum and Burgman 650. The first thing to do would be follow the wires from the lights and see if they go somewhere then look for any add on switches on the dash, handlebars, and possibly in the two upper glove boxes. Something else you might try is see if they come on with the high beams. If not then following the wires to see where they go would seem logical.

Thank you so much everyone.

Yes I am in California,USA. Its old model of 2007. Found it at one of the car dealership and bought it from them. They did not know anything about bike so I have to figure out myself.

Looked around every where but there is no switch.I started following wires, found loose connection on right side which had tape on it. I joined those wires and right side light is working now...hurreyyy.. :)

One wire is missing on left side and looks like it was cut or something. Need to open front panel for it which I don't want to do myself. So will have to take it to someone.

This is my first bike and its lot of fun. Thank you everyone for your help once again.
