I'm close to buy my first Suzuki Burgman. I'm in the Dallas area and the 2013 Burgmans I've seen are going for $11,000.

I'd like to hear from those who just bought the new model and what you purchased it at and if and how much was your dealer willing to negotiate?

I know you are looking at the 650 but to give you an idea, I purchased the 2013 400 for $7200 out the door. No money down. It took several calls, trips to dealers and working them against each other to get the deal I ended up with. I had to drive 130 miles to get it as the dealer I worked with in Wisconsin worked a little better deal then the dealers in Illinois.

With no negotiating I would have paid just under 10k with taxes, title, destination, set up fee, etc.

If you find a couple dealers that have the same 650, work them against each other for the best deal. Also, call other dealers that are further away. You can negotiate over the phone without going to their store. I did it this way and it worked like a champ. Just be patient and you will save a ton!

I worked between two dealers and neither one wanted to do much negotiating. I ended up getting 200.00 off list and extended warranty at a decent price (I think-640.00 for 4 additional years). I think the drool on my chin prevented me from doing any better.....

Dealer negotiating depends on how fast the 2013 650's are selling......!!!

BASE MSRP $10,999.00................!!

The 12 Burgmans just came out so dealers may not discount yet. Smart ones may to get rid of them quickly based on so many previous left overs. You should be able to get a $1,000 off from a volume dealer but maybe not until riding season is over. Where are you located?

Others don't seem to mind so long as payments are low and there is 0 or low financing being touted by Suzuki. This is what the dealer hopes.

Don't let them load it up with extra charges.

Usually if the dealer has the bike (scooter) that you want in stock you will do better by them then one that doesn't. So if you can find one, two, or three dealers that have the model you want this could work in your favor and if they have had it in stock for sometime it's more in your favor. I usually pay for my bikes in cash, but just wondering if filling out a credit app online with Suzuki the corporation, not the dealer itself if this might be an advantage as they would send it out to several dealers in your area and if this would start some type of bidding between dealers to get your business. Right now Suzuki has 0 interest for 5 years, which sounds like a good deal, but dealers maybe having to kick in some money to Suzuki Finical to get this deal, this could affect what your best deal is at the dealership, something to think about. Remember nothing is really free.

You can shop around for the warranty online. The 4 year extension (5 year total) I got I believe was under $500. Well worth it by the way. 3 days out of the manufactures warranty my transmission went out, for a total cost of about 4800. I didn't have to pay anything with my extended warranty.

I'm in the Dallas area also and looking to get my first one. Haven't decided yet whether to get the Burgman 650 or the BMW 650GT. Did you ever get one and from where and how much did you pay? There are only 2 BMW bike dealers in the metroplex, so not much competition.

I also live in the DFW area and am thinking about a Burgman 650, I personally don't care for any of the DFW dealers when it comes to Suzuki's. To get a good deal I had to go the Granbury to the dealer there to get my 650 V-Strom, but lately I'm been getting my bikes form Central Texas Motorsports in Georgetown, Texas. I purchased a new 2011 650 V-Strom and a Honda 2013 CRF250L, both at a good price. Biggest problem with the 650 Burgman is finding a dealer with one in stock, same a the 650 V-Stroms, not big sellers. Arlington Suzuki has a new 650 Burgman in stock, I looked at it on Wednesday, also two used 650's, one an Executive and one not. I didn't ask for pricing as I don't go into pricing until I'm ready to buy, probably go the Georgetown anyway, always a better deal there. They didn't have one on the floor either, but they said they could get one from the Suzuki warehouse if I wanted one, so I'm on hold till I get back from my bike ride in Colorado the first of September.

Based on my experience with the folks at
Killeen PowerSports since '04, I can highly
recommend them for anything Suzuki...
Eric in Parts...John at the Service Desk...
Bill the scooter mechanic in the shop...
each one treated me right.

Toyota tundra, I can understand not wanting to drive to Georgetown, the dealer is a personal friend of a fellow rider that I ride with so it's been easy to deal with them. Plus I'm retired and have nothing to do so a road trip is always a welcome trip with one of my riding buddies. He also sells the whole Japanese line of bikes, plus Can-Am and Polaris, the one stop shopping is nice when comparing bikes and prices. Personally I'm looking for a used 09 or newer with 2000-4000 miles on it. It must be the Executive model in white and as close to stock as possible, I'm not a fan of custom seats, rear trunks, saddlebags, I like them stock from the factory. I like my bikes new, but just don't feel the Burgman is holding its value at the present time, I check the Dallas Craigslist everyday and prices are all over the place and not selling, plus when they are $1500 higher then Kelly Blue Book at dealers and some private sales, it's buyers beware. Good luck with your Burgman purchase.

Last May I got my 2013 for $8999.00, no freight no setup, just tax, AZ registration and a reasonable Doc fee. I traded in my 2009 Yamaha Tmax with 20K miles, and was surprised on how much they gave me as trade in. I was happy with the deal I got.
