I have a 2012 650 Executive. I've only had it 5 days and am curious about the "K" designations I'm seeing in the model descriptions.
The only thing I see on my bike and owner's Manual is that it is a AN650A. No "K" anything.
So what is a K5 or K9?
Thanks
Bernd

the K is an "abbreviation " for 2000 as in a 2009 bike would be a k9 a 2005 bike would be a k5 and I am kx good looking, sexy, smart, and smell good (most of the time )

Well, a Burgman 650 built in 2004 is a K4 and one built in 2009 is a K9. There's not a K10. 'L' comes after 'K'. My Burgman registered in 2011 but built in 2010 is designated L0. Models built in 2011 are designated L1 and so on until we get to 2020 when I presume it will change to 'M' if Burgmans are still being made.

Just to add to this.
These designations are a Suzuki coding for all of their models not just Burgmans.
It's good to know this convention as many models are advertised as an example 'Model Year 2012' but in fact could actually be an older but new L0 (2010) or L1 (2011) model. In the UK we have a year code on our number plates, this is only a new government registration date and does not indicate the 'actual' year of manufacture. Many new bikes can sit in showrooms for years. Example my local Yamaha dealer has had the same new XMax 125 on display since early 2011 but still asking for the new 2013 price of £3950 but 2 years ago the same scooter was £3500. Another indicator that may help is the bike colour (color) as this can be the only change year to year on many models.
