Vista Cruise

swstiles, you can put a Vista cruise on a 400. I used the model for bikes with duel throttle cables. You will need to cut off the plastic ridges on the throttle grip.
Does it require that model for the 400? I have purchased the one for a single and 7/8 in bar. :?:

Thanks for the info Roy. I talked to the people who make the vista cruise today and he knew immediately which bike I was talking about and he said (That's a hell of a scooter but the Vista Cruise won't work on it)
He probably should have added (without some modification) Because I guess you got it to work on yours with some modification. I took the universal unit back to the dealer today (They only had the two universal units.) From what you've told me if I use the model for duel cables I need to cut the flange part of the grip. Does it mount to the one cables? How long have you had it and does work really well on the 400? :? :?:

Thanks in advance, Steve

Steve, I have actually installed the dual model on two 400s and two 650s they work fine. But, they do take "some" tinkering to fit and work.

The tab on the throttle lock fits between the cables under the cable retainer plate screw. This will produce a gap between the retainer plate and the metal cable holder. I made a spacer out of a modified flat hard rubber faucet washer to fill the gap. The throttle lock tab will need to be trimed in width and thickness. Also a note on trimming the plastic flanges on the handlebar throttle. You need to keep the as around a posssible to avoid flat spots.

If you decide to install one and would like to call me, my number is 423-461-3535 at home.

You also ask Paul on another topic about using the Throttlemeiser. Your description of how to use one is basically correct from my experience. I had one on a bike and never got used to using it. However, some people use them and really like them.
