Well, I had an issue with the tinny sounding horn and with the air rush to the hands with the windscreen raised. So, I have attempted to cure both in one motion. I ordered the Hella SuperTone horns not realizing just how HUGE these things are in diameter. So, in my search for an alternate location for the monsters, I had this "bright" idea. I haven't actually ridden the bike yet to feel the wind effect but, dang, those horns are LOUD! The horns are mounted to the outermost windscreen brackets. The brackets are welded both front and back and are of decent gauge so, I consider them strong enough however, I will keep an eye on them. I had some duplex studs that worked perfectly for the mount bolts...5/16ths on one end and 10x32 on the other end. A good bit of torque and locktite should keep them from rattling loose. The interesting part is that the horns "ride" along with the windscreen thereby filling the gap when the screen is raised.

Please, don't be too critical, as asthetics wasn't what I was after. Oh, yes I did "destroy" the front windscreen cover in the process. I'll order a new one as soon as they become available.

I hope that you do realize that sound carries with the wind......!!!!! SO....dont blow those horns when moving.....!!!!!!
Well, I don't think I'll be traveling at or even near the speed of sound so, I don't worry of running into my own horn blast. ;)

I see that there are a pair of driving lights or similar on the new 2013. Are these LED's or an incandescent bulb?
Yes, they are small LED running/parking lights.

I just returned from a 10 mile, cool evening run. I can confirm the horn placement cuts the wind blast by at least 50%, probably more. The horns are perfectly solid at speed and are quite entertaining!:toothy7: I think it makes the somewhat bland front end look like some kind of emergency vehicle. I can't wait till I get the headlight modulator installed! :p

I am sorry that just doesn't look that good on that beautiful new ride...

there has got to be a better way to mount those...
I agree the horns are "loud" in the asthetic sense. I think before it's over, I'll paint the grills gloss/satin black. Still I do like the air they block from hitting the hands. As far as a different location, rest assured, I pondered that for some time before this result. Nothing I have done (except for the screen cover plastic piece) is permanent. At some point I may finding a smaller more concealable set...but, they won't be as awesome as these are!
