Hi

About 2 months back I bought a 2006 Burgman 400. It has been riding great but stopped to start about a week ago. I realized the problem was with the batter and got a new battery. After I replaced the battery, it started fine but the turning lights are not working at all. I can't event get the hazard lights on. I am wondering did I miss to attach some wire ?

PS: This is the first time I bought a burgman or any other bike and don't really have much technical info.

More likely you managed to blow a fuse but don't know were they are on your model.

The fuse box is located behind the cover that is between the headlights and the bottom of the windshield. The cover just pulls straight forward to remove it after you remove two screws' one on each side of the dash. Once you get the cover off you will see a black box that says fuse on it. Open the box and you will see the fuses.

If other things on the circuit are working then probably not. It's just the eaiest thing to check. It's also not likely to be the switch unless both the turn signal and hazard switches failed at the same time. Next candidate would be the turn signal relay. It is in a box right next to the fuses.

Unless the wiring on your bike has been modified from stock there is no separate wire from the battery for the turn signals. If the fuse and relay are good then you likely have a wiring break somewhere.

Double check the battery connections.
But I bet one of your battery cables dislodged the right blinker plug behind the glove box when pulled it out and pushed the battery back in. One blinker/flasher unplugged kills the other if I remember correctly. I have seen that plug bumped loose before so it is worth checking out.

Hi Scootereno,

Great tip. You were exactly right. Although I didn't forgot to attach the right blinker plug, i plugged it to the negative side of the battery instead of the positive side of the battery. Once I properly connected it to the positive side of the battery, turning lights came back alive. Hurrayyyyyy :)
