hi I AM NOT A MECHANIC I OWN A BURGMAN 400 and have been asking about getting it tuned for more speed and acceleration but the 1st thing i have been asked is if it restricted ,I have googled but cant seem to find anything ????
im not aware that the bike comes ECU restricted as I understand you're asking. I've seen some people changing the sliders in the CVT and adding a EVO-tech performance chip to increase the fuel injection, check it out in amazon, on top of that, installing a K&N air filter also helps the bike performance.
trade it on a 650 then go buy a hayabusa, then i hear nasa needs another astronaut, it's a scooter ,dude, faster than a harley sportster at top end just not in a hurry to get there, if you are, you need another ride
The best bang for your buck are the doc pulley sliders lots of info on here if you
do a search, other than that jack up the number plate and slide a bigger scooter
or bike onto it.
Technically the 400 has no redline. It is RPM limited by the F1 computer or ECU. There are chips out there to adapt it for more performance and you can reprogram the original if you map it out first. But most people go with the mechanical "tuning" on the tranny, exhaust and intake as mentioned above. There is actually a lot of info out there if you check out Maxi-Scooter tuning....especially the Japanese sites!
