Traded in my 2011 Exec on a new 2013 yesterday. Many, many differences! I'm not fond of the white color, but it seems that is all there is. I do like the black wheels, less brake dust to show. I managed to get about 2 blocks from the dealer (45 miles from home) when the sky opened up. Had just enough time to pull over and get into my Frogg Toggs for the rest of the ride home. Tires with 1 mile on them in a heavy rain is no fun, but at least it was pretty much straight line riding. After getting home I started to dismantle the bike to start adding on the accumulated 6 years worth ( from my first Burgman '05) of modifications. Let me tell you, this body is WAY different than the others. They have eliminated a lot of screws and pins and gone with more locking plastic tabs. They eliminated the maintenance lid over the center hump and turned it into 3 pieces. The main center piece is NOT your friend. I needed to remove it to run my power and ground feeds to the front box area. The front box is now held on with just 2 screws and 2 pins instead of 6 screws. The handlebar covers are completely different, with just 2 pins holding both pieces on. The painted plastic of the front box area is going to pay the price of my keys rubbing on it, I can tell. My most major complaint is that my Clearview windshield would not fit on the '13, so it stayed on the '11. I hope they make one for the 2013. There is definitely a difference in the engine tuning and clutch/transmission. My '11 ran at 4000 rpm at 60 mph and this new one runs at 3400 at 60. It's going to be hard to observe the break-in rpm requirements again, but I know that if I do, the rewards will be a great machine!

Jetfixer,

Good luck with your new 2013. I think that you will find that it is a sweet ride and will really like the improvement in the MPG the 2013s get. After 953 miles on mine I am averaging 60.4 MPG.

A friend who just got rid of his 70,000 mi '07 and bought the new 2013 emailed Clearview to inquire. Their response was "We do not nor do we plan on having a version for the 2013"... :cussing:

Hmn. I rather like that color, actually. Tastes differ, that's all.

Yikes!

See if you can get some ClearBra material for the area under the lock to protect the paint.

Again, congratulations -- enjoy your new ride!

No matter what windshield you all get, think about modifying the bracket under the screen to add about 1.5 inches higher than the top mounting hole to help keeping it from cracking. All it would take is some aluminum flat stock about 1 to 1.25 inches wide and long enough to go from below the bottom hole to just about 1.5 inches higher than the top hole. Cover it with peel and stick vinyl, felt or rubber to make it non-mar, drill the 3 holes on each side and place under the shield between the bracket. Radius the top too.

Thanks all! I got an email response from Clearview that they will have a windshield for the 2013 this fall. I'll be anxious to see the shape and fit.

Here in N.Z, Suzuki are not importing any new Burgmans. I guess we will have to look after our burgmans here. I have being doing some cleaning and maintenance on my 07 650 Executive during wintertime.
That does not surprise me, given the price gouging that goes on by Suzuki NZ... $18000 for a AN650 2011, or maybe a 2011 production sold as a 2012. That price is about the same as a BMW C650GT. Guess what a 2013 AN650 facelift model would be sold for... in NZ? $$$+++
I do see a demo 2012 for sale, that I'd considered, initially offered for $12500 but now asking around $13500 - the $1000 increase was enough to put me off...
