Sunday 5th December, cold overcast day, but this did not stop about 100 bikes attending the Peterborough (England) Toys for Joy Run. A large bunch set out from Uppingham, a rural village, and rode the surrounding country roads, gathering more bikes as we passed through each village.

A police escort of 8 bikes kept us all together, keeping all the cages out of our way.

The cavalcade then made its way through the city of Peterborough, so that we could show off our machines, before ending at the Amazon Childrens Ward at the District Hospital.

The Mayor of Peterborough met us, short speech of thanks, received cheques for ward costs from several of the bike clubs attending, and then the bikers filled cot after cot with their gifts.

Tea, coffee and biscuits in the parking area, chatting with folks. No one asked us about supascoot, we are so sad about this. There was one other scooter, a 125cc Gilera, but we did not see the owner.

Home after 78 miles and 4 hours. A lovely way to spend time on our bike, give some joy to those kids who find themselves in hospital, and meet new folks.

Pics in the gallery.

Regards
