I came across this link while searching for topcases. I don't particularly like the Givi E52-looks like a radar antenna for a boat, although I'm close to ordering one from the AZMOTORSPORTS blowout sale 'cause of the price.I found the distibutor and was informed that the SH48 should be available soon over here. This is a Spanish product out of Barcelona[where I used to live, BTW].Anyone seen their products? It kind of wories me when Pierre claims the quality is below that of Givi. URL http://pierre.inazores.com/topcase_e.htm Billy There should be a _ after the word topcase but I don't know how to do it 'cause the underline wipes it out!

Yeah, I'd wonder about his comment regarding lower quality too, since he didn't elaborate. It does seem to have nice lines, but Givi also makes different cases that are arguably more attractive than the E52. I'd probably stick with the known entities (Givi and AZ Motorsports). For functionality, I like my E52. I did see some smaller Givi's that looked a bit better at Scootercade (E46 maybe?). But I also like the two big brake lights on the E52 (the smaller cases have a single smaller brake light option). The current sale price being offered by AZ Motorsports on the E52 with brake lights included is very good. If you want to buy a smaller, sexier looking Givi case later, it will fit on the same rack - and you could swap cases in a matter of seconds.

Hi flyboy

I have never seen that box before - well spotted! I am sure others may be interested too - so it is a good resource for this forum.

I would not worry too much about Pierres comment with respect to quality versus the Givi - he also says 'The SHAD case has a highly reliable two-way locking system and a double profile join guaranteeing complete waterproof and low noise when riding in an irregular pavement.'

My view is what more can you want! As you say the Givi is not to your taste (so even with a good price reduction you probably would not be really happy with it). The Shad is a very fine looking box and the mounting system looks very Givi anyway!

Be interested to hear more if you go the Shad route :)

PS:pierre Sousa's website is absolutely brilliant - just dipped in for 30 minutes and it is in my favourites for a return visit lot of good info and an interesting read. He has helpfully given lots of weblinks with his projects which are all working too (well the dozen or so I clicked on). Brilliant!!

I have to agree with you Norman. Pierre Sousa's website is great. Having never been to Europe, it was very interesting to read about his trips.

The Internet sure has made it easy to reach out and touch the rest of the world through other people's experiences!

Thanks "flyboy" for finding this website. :D

The GIVI E52NF is a great case. The deal for $200 is well worth it.

although it is overpriced, I would recommend buying the E98 inner liner. It improves the case.

Eddie,

What exactly is that liner, and where did you buy it? AZ Motorsports doesn't list it. The GiviUSA site lists it, but has no picture or other info. I'd like to find out a little more about it.

Paul;

It is molde to the shape of the case. Comes with double sided tape to hold the sides in place. I'm giving you the web page for RL Cycles. They are the second largest GIVI dealer in the country next to Arizona motorsports

Thanks Eddie,

I bookmarked the site. Corbin seat is higher on my "want list", but I might want to get one of those liners next year too.

One question. Is the liner totally soft foldable floppy before you put it in the case (like soft nylon)? Or does it have some structural stiffness that matches the shape of the case? I'd think that the latter (stiff shape) would make for easier installation.

The liner is molded to the shape of the case. It does have structural stiffness. The tape secures the top of the liner to the sides of the topcase. It works.

It really is overpriced at $50

I think I may get this liner eventually. Some would say that the non-skid liners I put in my gloveboxes were overpriced at $15 for the set too. But they make those forward compartments so much more useable - I don't have to worry about stuff getting scratched up. I think this liner would do about the same thing for the topcase. I'd love to catch a sale on it though - maybe 20% off...

Were those jac's liners for the gloveboxes?

Also, this liner is to protect stuff from getting all beat up for the E52 case I presume?

One thing I want to find out is if the Shad has the quick detach feature-brakelight disc like the E52.That sure is a handy dandy quick change item.I also would like to put a topcase rack on top like the E52 offers. I carry my golf clubs around on my scoot and the rack would be great to tie or bungee my clubs to.The other thing I'm trying to find out is if the Shad company makes a mount for saddlebags for the 650. They make them for other motorcycles, but the distributor didn't know about the 650.In fact ,she had never heard of the Burgman.Makes you wonder about dealing with these people. She[the person I was passed ]also didn't know the prices of anything but said she would find out in a week.Interestingly, she left me a message later asking where I found the special deal on the E52, said her boss wants to know.Should I tell her? I'm afraid they might buy all the remaining E52's and try to re-sell them at a higher price.I really hate dealing with outfits that don't know their business. I suppose I should just buy the E52, but dang, I really like the look of the Shad. Decisions, decisions. Billy

Norm, I did leave a long comment in the comments box, but I never heard back.I'll see if he left an e-mail address.I'm calling the distributor today with all my questions and if they don't have anything more than last time I'll probably just order the E52.I'm getting too carried away with this stuff, but the Shad sure is a nice looking unit. QUICK, QUICK, pictures!!!!!!!!

HOw do you do it??????? I have been thinking about this for some time. Golf days here are the BEST riding days and I tend to drive the car because I haven't figured out how to do what you do.
I have thought of a smaller bag and a reduced set of clubs, hanging them off the side ....
I saw a guys bike last year with a custom built frame over the passenger seat on a Ninja crotch rocket. It was a little too permanent for my taste.

So advice, pictures, how to, please, please, pleeeeeease!!

Thanks!

I met a fellow last Spring at a dealer and he had just bought a hard- sided gun case that is made for mounting on ATVs. He was going to mount it on the side of his Aprillia Atlantic for carrying golf clubs.
He had it outside and was trial-fitting it on his scooter.
He had the wider end sitting on the floorboard behind the riders foot and the other end running up rearward on an angle next to the area where we would mount a topbox. His idea was to construct two simple removeable brackets to secure it to his bike. It looked doable but I haven't seen him since to see how it worked out. :D
