Took my 400 on a group ride with "Southern Cruisers&quo

Joined in my first group ride with the local Southern Cruisers on a daylong "Big Loop" ride thru the Adirondacks -Lake George, Long Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, Tupper Lake, Saranac Lakes, Lake Placid and back down past Lake George. My lil' burgie was dwarfed by the other bikes, but kept up just fine... I had a blast... Was told later that my bike was the talk of the group, and got complimented on how nicely it handled in the twisties! Can't wait to ride again :D

Fantastic,

So good to hear these stories. Isn't that the name of the game...having fun and sharing it with others. I had the same experiences when I brought my 400 to the Seattle BMW Selton rally. People came over and chatted and so I met a different crowd..
Diane, I know that was a beautiful ride. I love riding in that area, too.
Keep it up and you'll have some "Burgy" converts

Diane,

Isn't it great! And you probably weren't half as sore as the H-Ders on the ride. I've gotten a lot of compliments from other riders about my 400. Even a mechanic who'd worked on them but never seen one in action--he was very impressed with its handling, power, etc.

Have fun,

Bryna
Diane, I also am with SCRC (Southern Cruisers) and it has been one of the best things I ever did. I am in the Maryland Patapsco Chapter. Not only are the people friendly in the group, but they have so much experience on bikes that it has made me a better rider and they are more than willing to share their knowledge. Since I am the only Scooter rider in the group, they all have a new found respect for the scooter and what it can do.
Hey Diane... I went for my first ride with the SCRC this month too!! Nearly 300 miles, but what a ride!! As for being dwarfed, I have the 650 and also felt dwarfed by some of those bikes but no problem keeping up. Actually handled better than a lot of those bikes.
Group ride

Diane,

I just got my 400 about 2 months ago, have already hit 1300 miles. But this is riding by myself. Have been looking for a group to ride with. I live in north East Florida. How did you find your riding group. I love the 400, looked at the 650, but the 400 just seemed to fit me.

Chuckie,

Here is a web page that shows all the Southern Cruisers chapters and jumps to the state of Florida :

there aren't any burgmans in my chapter...YET!
I've told a few people what I was looking at and what I wanted and they were excited because they haven't actually "seen" one.

I know March isn't that far away but it sure seems like it. 4 months is forever!

I communicated via email with the ride captain before I actually went on a group ride with the SCRC in my area. When I arrived at the ride meeting spot, he told me he had to look up "Suzuki Burgman" because he never heard of it but said the specs were very impressive. He calls it a cross between a sport bike and a scooter w/ touring capability.
