Thinking of purchasing a Burgman ????

Hello Everyone,
I just joined the group. I have been thinking of purchasing a Burgman for some time now, so I thought I get some info from the experts. I am leaning towards the 650. Are there any years I should stay away from? What is high mileage for these? I am in Orlando, and see a dealer in Palm Beach advertising a brand new 2013 65 Exeutive for $9491, which seems good, but I am thinking gently used to be the better deal. I have owned all kinds and brands of motorcycles, but no more touring for me, just cruising around town and some back roads, so a Burgman will fit the bill and looks like as much fun as a regular motorcycle. On Orlando's CL there is a 2006 650 with 28K miles for $3500, Is this alot of miles, or not? Thanks in advance, Kim

Just my opinion but.....if I was only 'cruising around town, and some back roads' my choice would be my Burgman 400.

Its easier to ride, more economical, and cheaper all round, than my 650, while still being a great ride.

On the other hand, if you go straight to the 650, you will find that its such a brilliant long distance machine, it may change your mind on the touring issue ?.....both scoots are GREAT!

just a thought ;)
Thanks everyone!
I may do a bit more long didtance riding. I got rid of all my bikes, last two being a BMW K1200LT, and a Moto Guzzi Cali III because of the crazy and I mean crazy drivers here in Orlando. Orlando has a lot of NYC transplants. I am retiring within 2 years and moving to the Daytona area. I want to get one now before the big move. I am leaning towards the 650 as I am a big man, my nickname is Big O, as I am a Big O Boy, LOL 6'3" and right now 290 lbs but losing. So any 2 up riding, I need the displacement. I am just concerned about how many miles are too many? I've ridden BMW's all my life so I am a bit spoiled. I believe the $9400 price is before add ons. If they are dependable as I read, I am not worried about buying used, and of course if it has been maintained or not. Thanks again for the advice. Kim
Ok then Kim.....with that extra information, it sounds like you might be heading towards the 650.

You wont be disappointed......you can read on this forum the big mileage that riders have done, as well as reliability of these scoots.

Bye the way....I too am a 'Big O' just like yourself, retired with a few aches & pains, but I regularly manage 500+ miles per day on our trips into Europe etc, with my longest being 702mls in 12 hrs riding in France.

There are bigger touring bikes, and faster touring bikes, but I'm yet ride anything thats more comfy than the 650 Exec.

Hope you get sorted :D
