My mirror switch often stays down. I know this has been a problem, has anyone successfully taken it apart and fixed it?

I just tried the mirror switch on my 2012 and when you push down on it and it stays down that's what it supposed to do. When its in the down position if you press on it again it pops up. Maybe you are saying that after it is pressed down it stays down but when you press it again the switch does not go back up. Sorry if I read your post incorrectly.
