 Maybe it's the heat and the rain here in Florida. I've had to ride out in 90 degree (mid to high 30's C) days with humidity that is so bad it makes me ill.

I've had no desire to ride. No desire to take the bike out. I've rode pretty much every day since I got my bike over 3 years ago.

My question for you is...am I nuts or is the bloom off the rose? do you ever lose the desire to ride?

Oh yeah, several times... especially when it's hot! A friend of mine lives in FL. and he's all but given up riding there due to the heat and boring landscape. He'd much rather just jump in his Miata and be done with it. I guess this is something that comes with age.

P.S. It's 81 deg. here right now, and I'm debating whether I want to put long pants on or not. (to ride)

Sure do when the temperature is 90 at 5:30 am headed to 110+. Haven't ridden to work for the last two weeks. Have taken it out on the weekend for quick rides to the store but that's all. I also don't ride if I'm not feeling 100% as my attention isn't where it should be.

Don't get down we all have had that feeling at times

Sounds more like a Florida problem than a Burgman problem:rolleyes:

Seriously, here in the Los Angeles area, if I have to be on the road it's gonna be the Burgman. I avoid my car unless it's absolutely necessary. With lane splitting legal here, travelling by bike saves me 30-40% in travel time.

There was a time that I would ride in any temp/humid condition. As I age and have had to take certain medicines I find that my temp/humidity/comfort zone gets less every year.
At this rate I'll probably only go outside once a month before long :p

This just in . . . . hoards of aging motorcyclists (species: humanas masculus scotterticulus) are being driven northward from their natural habitat, in search of smooth, twisty pavement in the hill and shore regions of cooler climes. Climate change or just plain sh**ty weather - the debate rages on.

The desert of So. Cal felt like Fla. this morning. At 5:30 am it was 80 degrees & 80% humidity.

When it is extremely hot and or humid I wear an ice collar. It's a terrycloth collar with a pocket so that you can put ice cubes around your neck. It works like a champion. I first read about it in a motorcycle magazine. It attaches with velcro. You will be pleasantly surprised how well it works.

Frequently.

Unless I'm pushing off into a long-distance ride, I don't want the hassle of ATTGATT.

Going to the local whatever ... don your body protection and ear protection ... put everything on at home.

Take the helmet and ear protection off at your first destination to buy a tomato. Put it all back on to visit the local hardware store to pick up that wing nut you so desperately need. You're hungry now so the next stop is the local fast-food establishment of your choice. Once again, remove the helmet and the ear protection of your choice.

Are you now sweating profusely in your ATTGATT attire by now?
Of course you are.

Look. I applaud ATTGATT believers/supporters. And those who ride with ATTGATT are to be commended.

But it isn't a view that's supported by the 2-wheel community. Just being in vociferous opposition.

Regards,

Dan

Hey , no one in South Florida does any thing out side in the summer after 11AM . I had a condo in Pompano Beach for 10 years and spent the winters there . I went down a week before Christmas and came home in early April , 3 plus months of golf tennis and women from all over the world . Best 10 years of my life . All that said you couldn't pay me to even visit during the summer time . It's a real **** hole in July and August .
