Hi Helix here,
I'm brand new to the Burgman family. We got rid of the Helix's(even though my nick name will always be Helix). Just picked up a silver 650 Burgman and wife got a black one. Just took the Texas side car off her Helix and were getting it installed. Another week or so we will both be back scooting. Really enjoyed Scootercade this year in Arkansas and both were ready to move up to the Burgman's. Was great to see a Velorex attached to a Burgman in the Gallary this morning.
Later,
Helix

Welcome to the BurgmanUSA forums helix. Glad to have you join us. A few of our forum members attended Scootercade this year. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it next year myself. Some of our members are interested in sidecars. We'd love to hear about yours and if you have any pics available (once it's installed), they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Bill,
Went to Scootercade for first time and wife and I had a lot of fun! Lot of nice people and great roads to scoot on. Wife and I went with 4 other couples from Camp ground and went to Branson and back. Took some beautiful roads and gentleman and wife leading took a nice steady slow pace. Much appreciated since wife had side car on her Helix. That trip is when she decided it was time to move up. Will try and figure out sending a pic of wifes rid when completed.

Take care,
Helix

Welcome Helix, was a good scooter in its day. I could not find one in Canada, so had to go to USA to bring one back, thought I was in heven when i got it :)
Yes I will miss the ol Helix. I had a 1986 original red one with givi windshield, luggage racks, back rest, top case. Someone in our scooter club bought it, so the ol girl will still be riding with us!! Thanks for asking they are still neat machines, but I was ready to move up to the Bergman 650. Use to have Goldwings and was ready for more serious hwy riding with the wife. Have a great day.........

NormanB,
Nope, pretty boring. Wife mostly uses for balance. She Learned to ride a goldwing with a sidecar and has always had a hack.

Hey Helix,

I'm the one who has the Velorex hack and I'm wondering if you could tell me how Texas Sidecar mounts their rig on the Burger. The way mine is set up I can't adjust the lean out and so I'm stuck with what might be a bit of an unnecessary pull to the right. Nothing too severe, but its a bit of a fight when I have to make a left turn. I'll also be interested to hear how it handles once the install is done. If it handles better than my setup, I may look into getting an install kit from them.

Brad, This is the first install on a Burgman for the gentleman we're using. He has been installing sidecars for over 30years on motorcycles and felt he could do it after delivering it and looking at it. Not exactly? sure what kind of hookups he is going with or if they will be adjustable or not. Kind of putting our trust in him. His mentor was very good at it and we are hoping he will do a good job. Dropped off a week ago and no word yet? He is friends with Doug Bingman,so hopefully they will chat if need be. By the way Brad your rig really looks great!

Will let forum know when done.
Take care,
