I am thinking about buying a dtc special tool for my 650 (15) I have an abs light and looking at the shop manual the dtc reader is supposed to give me the information to make it easier to troubleshoot.
I like having my toys, but I don't like buying a toy I will only use once in a lifetime, especially if it's not cost effective. So , do I attempt to buy it? where do I attempt to buy it, How much should I expect to pay? Can I hide it from swmbo? (she doesn't like me getting diagnostic toys since she knows everything ) and any other information anyone has on it would be greatly appreciated and seriously considered while consuming a thought provoking refrashing beverage.

Do you have a part number for the tool? It's not the dealer mode switch I presume.

I have a couple hundred dealer mode switches in my staplegun, the part number in the service manual is 09904-41010
I looked on line and there sre variations like a -001 at the end, there are some with year/model limitations and require a computer with specific software like win 10 or whatever

Mikey why don't you try this first. I thought of getting one if I needed it. You hook it up to your laptop. As long as your not using data punch cards anymore!

Uncle Fester we need to get that and circulate it thru the membership somehow ?
A person could use it for the cost to become a Premium Member of BUSA and the cost to ship it to the next member. That would support the site and it’s membership.

And be better than a 50% savings of buying one out right.

the problem with that is, software, different bikes use different software so only 13 and above could use what I purchase, and only if they have the correct software (like win 10) in their laptops

When I click on Uncles Festers link it reads ‘’for Suzuki Motorcycles”.
It doesn’t list years or models.

Win10 is the operating system software of a Modern Windows Computer today.

yeah, that link also doesn't say what computer software, If you google the part number , it gives you a lot of choices, those choices tell you years and software.

Thanks Uncle Fester,

I’m working from an Ipad and sometimes when I click on an EBay link within my browser it opens my Ebay App and sometimes it doesn’t . The app always feels a little foreign and more restricted than my browser view.

So according to your posting this would only be useful for the first version of the 2003-2012 B650 is that the same with the B400 and it’s first version ? It is showing the same dates ?

Did they not release a B650 or B400 for calendar year 2010-11?

this just makes me want to ,,,, smile,, working on my abs problem, I put it in dealer mode, it said no codes stored :( so a sds reader wouldn't do me any good if I could find one for the 13 and up, there are no suzuke bike dealers in the area, so Ima put a smiley face over that light and wait a few years till something happens.

Well at least you still have regular brakes and don't have to put your feet down to stop!
