I have had a Suzuki OEM large wind screen on order for about three weeks and had been frustrated with both not knowing as well as not having it on my bike!
My dealer tried to be as helpful as possible but couldn't get an answer out of Suzuki Canada as to a delivery date, she even had problems getting them to answer her calls.
I had called all the dealers in Montreal and Toronto to see if someone had one in stock, no luck.
Last Friday night I email every dealer I could find listed that had an email address and I emailed Suzuki Canada directly as well.
The replies from the dealers that did reply was that they could order it from Suzuki but nobody had one in stock. I wasn't surprised and had emailed then just on the chance that someone had screwed up and gotten one by accident.
I was surprise that this morning I got an actual answer for Suzuki!

Thank you for your email.

The tall windscreens have been ordered from Italy.

After checking with sea freight, it looks like two to three weeks depending on how fast customs processes this order.

We hope this information is helpful.

So it looks like there is hope that I will have it before winter! It is only $140 cdn as opposed to the $465 it will cost me to get a Clearview one up here. I figure that I will wait and keep my fingers crossed as to when it gets here!

I bought my 650 in June and ordered it with the new larger windshield installed. Only took two weeks to take delivery of the bike complete with the larger shield. The sheild was shipped directly from Suzuki's warehouse in Toronto. It has great hand protection and is about 3" taller than the stock shield. I could still use another few inches of height as I'm 6'3" tall. It even has the word 'Burgman' printed on the edge by the left hand guard.

REALLY interesting photo's in one respect. I think if my Clearview had the same "shape" around the grip area, my turbulance at my ears would be gone. Clearview did a very WEIRD design in this area of the grips to me. Never saw them do it before. I'm sure it's where my problems are coming from. Especially considering it's the XXL and 2" OVER my eye level and I still have wind in my ears. If Suzuki ever get's that shield here in Californis, I may switch. Have a hunch it would be LESS wind though vastly shorter than my XXL? Mike

Arby, you were lucky, seems they sold out in July when I bought mine. I may have gotten the last new 650 here in Ottawa. At least that my dealer had.

At 6' 3" tall the wind hits me about forehead level - depending on speed. I also find if the wife is riding on the back then I get less wind on my helmet. When I ride alone the pre-load on the rear shocks is set at 2, when riding two-up its at 4. I look over the windshield by a good 4 inches. The hand protection is fantastic. I feel no wind at all on my hands and don't get hit with any bugs.

I guess we are about the same height. Right now I get a line of bugs just above were my visor is, HJC Sys-Max, at least when I was out long enough to geta line of bugs and the weather was warm enough for the bugs to come out and form a line for me.

I am still working on getting the wife on the back with me, it has been more timing and stuff with us. I have only had the bike for a little over three weeks. She wants to ride out to Victoria on it, I figure that I will buy a trailer and hitch it to the van I plan to get this fall and drive out to Victoria that way and still take the bike with us. It might be just a little more comfortable for the 54 hours of driving.

I once recommended a Vet to a friend with a sick dog....the dog died so I'm not recommending this but just saying I'm very pleased with my 650 Ermax screen but realise its country of origin may be a problem to some.

This is the first I've heard about an Ermax screen for the 650. Do you have a link to a website or vendor where we could see pictures and/or learn more about it? Or perhaps post a picture of your scoot with the screen installed? I'd be most interested to learn more about it.

Guys, I'd love to post some pics of the Ermax and a few other little mods but I need a driving lesson on how to hang a picture in the gallery. I figured I would be able to work it out but the bizzo won't let me log into the gallery and yes I've checked my join up email and I'm using the right username and password....I'm stumped !!

So Allan! Since you posted the pictures, how does it compare, shape wise, to your larger OEM?

Shape wise it seems to be very similar. Hard to tell from the pictures but the hand flared portion seems a little different as well.
The oem blacked out portion ends below the hand flares . The ermax blackout is much higher.

Ermax

I called the U.S. distributor for Ermax today-nothing in stock-about 4 week delivery time.Material is PMMA high optical quality and only comes in the color shown in the photo. It is about 4" higher than the standard screen.Lez, the distributor, said they are very good quality, however he hasn't seen the 650 screen itself.Cost is $165.Maybe we could save a little with a multiple order.Call Lez at 917-592-2995-N.Y.C.
