I just installed the Remus Revoultion exhaust system this weekend.I went for a 10 mi.ride with the baffle in and was a little dissapointed. However after removing the baffle it sounds fantastic! It growls it howls! I'm now a happy camper after getting rid of that big black boat anchor of a muffler that came with it.I do believe the performance has also improved! And the Remus system looks great too!Very easy to install as well. Many thanks to Knut Wagner and Max Moto for the quick delivery. Just wanted to pass this info on. wheaties67

Yeah - It'll wake up the dead & piss off the Harley guy next door without the baffle. I got tired of it pretty quick. I was afraid to hit the throttle going under freeway overpasses for fear that the sound would dislodge chunks of concrete... (slight exaggeration - but very slight...).

I cut off the back three inches of the baffle (removing the end where it is crimped) and reinstalled it. Pretty decent sound level - I've been riding with it that way for about 4,000 miles now. I can hear the pipe, but it isn't embarassingly loud.

Remus pipes usually do improve performance. I run a set of Remus Gran Prix cannisters on my V-Strom. Dyno tests showed 10% gain in both horsepower & torque. Now those sound sweet - nice mellow rumble. I was hoping the Revolution cannister would sound the same - but unfortunately, it doesn't.

I agree that the Remus looks much better than the stock cannister - and it weighs a lot less too.
How much less does the remus weigh? Have either of you guys put the stock pipe and the remus on a scale and figured out the difference? Stock exhausts are usually boat anchors so I'd really like to know how much weight the scooter looses in the transplant... Also what did you guys pay?
I wish I had weighed them first, but forgot to do so. Anyway, the Remus seemed about half the weight of the stock! I thought it was way too loud without the baffle and have left it in. I think it sounds about right. I can't remember what I paid, about $200. It looks a lot sportier than the stock "anchor".

Cheers,

Bob
I didn't weigh them either, but the difference in weight is huge. According to the Max Moto website, an aluminum Revolution cannister is $335. Titanium or Carbon Fiber are $429. I have the Aluminum version, and they did give me a big discount for being the first one in the USA to try the Revolution on a AN650. I believe that their price includes shipping. You might do better on price through Pipe City. I bought the Remus cans for my V-Strom through them. You have to call them for pricing.

Thanks for the info gents. I kinda figured the weight savings is substantial but I was curious exactly how substantial.

Thanks for the pricing info too.

I kinda like the "Stealth Scoot" thing that the burgie has going for it but a little noise to distract from the racket in the "engine room" would be nice. Plus, some noise might get someone to look over their shoulder before they change lanes into me which is also good.

One of my last bikes was so quite that all you could hear was the cam chain and the valve train noise. That was quickly changed as it became track ready though.
I would like to know which one between the Remus Revolution and the Leo Vince exhaust is better. I would like to get a big more sound but do not want to sound like a loud Harley.
