I pulled the CVT bolt out yesterday and it had a couple of small knicks in it.
So I ordered the new improved one for less than $6 at the cycle shop. Guess
I will replace it when it comes in.....just for peace of mind. I have a 650 with
only about 8500 miles on it. Sure is a fun ride...glad spring and summer are
on the way.

The new stop bolt is longer so not sure it would work in an 06. Make sure it will not cause any damage before you install it. There are 3 ddifferent stop bolts, in the early 650s they were a gold color, in the 07 to 10 they were silver and supposed to be harder and stand up better, in the 11 and up they are black and I said, longer.

I checked for the bolt for a 2005 650 and the old bolt was discontinued
and a new number ending in 10 was it's replacement...I don't know if
that one is longer or not like the ones for the newest models.

The updated part # for the stopper bolt for an 05 is 21748-10g10 and is silver in color. If you receive the black one for the 2011, don't try to use it as it is too long.

21748-10G10 according to boulevardsuzuki.com parts finder is the proper bolt for the 06 650. The part number for my 11 650 is 21748-10G20.

the newer bolt is longer than the old one and won't fit the older Primary Pulley if it has not been replaced

the online microfiches will direct you to the right part # if you select the correct model year.
The did make a replacement number change for the older bolt.
If in doubt, double check the 03-09 bolt part # vs the 10+ part #.

part # upgrade for the 03-09 models:

Old Part # ..: 21748-10G00
New Part #.: 21748-10G10

old 04 bolts, new vs used

old bolt from worn out 04 primary pulley

New bolt from new 10+ primary pulley adapter
