stock replacement parts, don't break down on the road.

I love my Burgman 650 but I won't buy another one until they get a supply of spare parts. I have been waiting almost 3 weeks for a standard radiator and Suzuki says it will be at least another 3 weeks to get one. Sure glad I wasn't on a trip when this happened. I have had tires on order from onidea since July 7, just the standard bridgestone replacements. They are on backorder still. For some people a simple break down could cost them a whole ridding season. If I sound mad I am. I am sitting here looking at my new Corbin seat, with no bike to put it on. Great Bike, LOUSY support !

Unfortunately you can run into that with virtually any new Japanese motorcycle. It's not just Burgmans - and its not just Suzuki. The service manager at the dealership I go to is frustrated beyond belief waiting for parts - and he says Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki & Suzuki all operate the same way. They do not want to invest in warehouse inventory of spare parts. (The dealership carries all four brands.)

You may be right but I have a feeling it is a lot worse for our scooters, even with a new bike they can guess pretty close about what parts to have, and many parts are interchangeable , but I think Suzuki just did not expect the kind of sales the Burgman is doing and there going to have to play catch up for a while.
Ask Suzuki to be reimbursed for temporary repairs that a car radiator shop could do, in the meantime.
Check on e-bay. There was some place that had 2 burgers he was parting out. You may get the rad there and the tires as well. I havent been on ebay in about 6 weeks so I dont know if it still exists.

They DID produce the bikes that were sold, so one would assume that they would also produce the necessary parts as well.

Perhaps the real issue is abnormal failure of certian items. Or the dealer delayed the order, or didn't order the correct part, etc.
