HELP! I have an 06 Burgman 400. Today I went to start it and it was dead as a doornail. Thought it might be a dead battery so I put it on the charger and charged it for 4 hours. It started, ran out of the drive and would not accelerate. Started to fun fough and then died. put it back on the charger and now nothing. The speedo goes to 100, the bike makes a horrible clicking sound and will not do anything. I have 12v at the battery but snce it wont start, I cant check it under load. Any suggestions would be welcome.

If the battery is the original it may be that, give it a good long charge and try again, check the bolts are tight.

Battery or the bikes charging system.
My first bet would be that the battery has gone bad. The easiest thing to do is take it out and have it checked at any auto parts store.
Good Luck!
