I had my 650 - "04 out for the final ride of the season on January 1st. The weather was unusual for the Buffalo, NY region - high 30's. All the salt had washed away and the roads were in great condition. My question is that a (I think it's the brakes) squealig noise is till coming from the bike. What would you recommend to fix this?

I assume a few things.

It squeals or squeeks only when moving
It varies with the speed

If there is 10,000 miles on it, it may be the brake pads.
Less than that (5,000 or so) it may just be dirt, between the pads and rotors

If it's in the rear only, it may be the parking brake cable is stuck.

There have been some reports of the belt, in the drive becoming dirty, or (hope not) the CVT may be acting up.

All I can think of right now.

My brakes (front) started squeaking around 1500 miles. At the time I was riding with Roger (Burg650) and he told me his had done the same then quieted. Disk brakes do tend to sqeak especially if they get a bit dusty so a wash quieted it. I still get the squeak on occaision when braking/slowing to a gradual stop. But it has not been a problem...

Thank you for coming back. It happens as JohnyDeath wrote when I'm braking/slowing to a gradual stop.
