Hello all. Back in 2009 I rejoined the two wheel world after a 25 year break. Got a new 650 Exec. Absolutely loved it. After a year I had a dumb attack and traded it in on a Triumph Thunderbird.
Don't misunderstand, the Triumph is a great motorcycle......Anyway, I took the cure for my ailment and I am looking to get another 650. Wow, this is not going to be easy. Suzuki ads scream the praise of the improved version but nobody has them and nobody knows how much they are going to cost? Claim 15% fuel savings!!!Whoopee...Then I read a test where the guy got 38mpg during his test??? And the new clutch.....You know, I can wait for that to sort itself out. I went through the "new" thing with the Triumph and it spent considerable time in the shop getting sorted out....I know what I had in 2009 and that will be fine with me. What I would like to know is what "improvements" were claimed between 09 and the 11/12 models, if any. There are ads for both 11 and 12 brand new Exec's for about 8,000 plus fees....Any help I can get will be appreciated as I am going to get serious this weekend...

PS....Been kicking around the website for a few days and it feels good to be "home"

There were suppose to be some changes to strengthen the CVT on the 11/12 models and there were some changes in the dash layout in the 2012 model but I can't remember if they were in the 2011 as well.
