Hey good people, I have a question. Will a bad pair valve do damage to the engine of a 2007 650cc burgman with 36,000 miles on the clock?

Shouldnt do anything really it injects air into the exhaust to help burn any fuel not combusted in the engine. All about clean air and emissions. Why do you think you have a bad pair valve? Is it smoking as your title? Could be a number of things. My 14 plate smokes and burns a bit of oil but it does have 67k miles on it so wear and tear on stem seals rings and the like.
