Scott, not an answer but maybe a link. David Harris posted a review over on Revzilla.com on this combo. He has a twitter account by the name of jdharris2191.

I've found tons of videos showing the product installed but not the actual installation. I shoved mine in there but not sure how well I did. It works but I worry about excessive stress on wires and stuff. Also how durable are the boom mics? Will it hold up to minor adjustments every timeI put it on/take it off, and open/close the front of the face?

Is it safe to dremel into the foam a little around the ears so I can set the speakers in more deeply?
I am not sure about warranty issues if you do. You are talking about the polystyrene hard foam, not the soft padding foam? Yes that has been done before. Within reason you can shape a helmets foam to fit. Most guys I know that have done it give a ratts rump about warranty's.

The "Within reason" part means that you will not be hogging out lots of foam. You need WHAT, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch max? Just make sure that the speakers are set "SUB-SURFACE" to the foam so they do not cause injury in an impact. Funny, my old EXO400 had pockets for speakers.

I cut a little piece out of one side with a dremmel so the base would attach more securely. Eventually, the microphone did detach from all the bending. I replaced it with the non-attached mic and simply ran it from inside the foam. Far less to mess with, and the mic actually sits completely in front of my mouth.
