I have been looking at the specs for the 2013 Burgman 400 ABS and it mentions:

"A security gate allows a chain lock to be passed through the bodywork around the frame."

Sounds like a great idea. What is it exactly? Any pictures? Does the 650 have this? I'm very curious. 8)

There are some loops down by the center stand that will allow you to pass a cable through. I found them useful when tying the bike down for transport in my truck.

There is an expose lower frame crossbar on the 650 I suppose might work.

My '05-400 has a 3 X 3 hole in the plastic tupperware
down on the right side, under the footrest, right along
the frame....rather than risking a chain scratching
things, I use a vinyl-covered cable...push one end
through the opening, reach up under the frame, &
pull the cable through so I can loop it around something
& then padlock the ends together.
Maybe there is a flapper-door to fill the opening now.
