I'm sure this has been asked; in fact, I remember reading it, but CRS has set in. Does the seat strut install with the fat cylinder up, attached to the seat, or down, attached to the frame? Since mine's apparently been replaced, I'm not sure it's correct. New one coming from Liftsupportsdepot.

thanks

The cylinder housing attaches to the seat....
the piston rod attaches to the bottom hinge bolt.

Then mine is upside down. It was that way when I got it. It works...well, the strut doesn't hold up the seat, but the seat closes.

Well allrighty, then. For the first time ever, the seat slowly, gently raises itself when unlatched, and stays there. Not a bad deal for $25.

I'm sick of replacing those famed struts I think I'm going to take mine off and go for a prop of some sort!
