Hey Pappy, That's a very interesting site. You may want to check out the Ner-a-Car site here to read about an interesting scooter like motorcycle that was made around 1920. There was a great example in the Guggenheim's Art of the Motorcycle exhibit. You might also be interested in the Megola Sport from around the same period. The body work was very full and the frame was step-through, like a modern scooter. It had a radial five cylinder engine...mounted in the hub of the front wheel. Talk about unsprung weight!
