Does anyone have a stock Burgman saddle they would like to sell? I would like to attempt a modification and I'd rather not risk it with my only saddle.

Also, what is the best way to carve the foam? Dremel? Hot knife? I have used an electric carving knife on foam but I'm not sure how to go about scooping out an area to fit a gel pad.

Would there be any benefit to carving lower than the depth of the gel pad and covering it with thin foam? I would like to sit a little lower than the stock height without having to modify the cover.

All suggestions and ideas appreciated. I sure have enjoyed looking at the gallery pictures. Thanks to all who did step by step photos of mods as well as you all who share your pics and trips.

I used a long blade box cutter, to cut under the foam. Simular to filleting a fish. I did it in one pc., so when I trade or sell the bike, I can re-insert the foam, and keep the gel pads.
For general shaping, I used various grit sand paper, from 80 - 180.
