What is the best way to run a wire from the console area of the 650 back to the battery?

I can remove the plastic "hump" cover, and get the wire from the console down to the hump, but can't figure out what else I need to remove to get to the battery area. Does the seat need to come off?

Thanks for any advice, and links to pictures if you've got 'em!

Do not bother running a wire to the battery. DANGEROUS the wire MUST be fused.

Instead run your wire to the fuse box and splice it into the FAN fuse. Each fuse in the fuse box is labeled so the fan fuse is easy to see. This is a 10 aqmp fuse, and there is plenty of power available to supply any accessory that you want.

Remove the fuse box from the left side glove box by removing 2 screws. Then after splicing into the fan fuse, just run your wire into the glove box.

Oops, I should have been more specific. I'm running a wire for my intercome to the battery AREA (i.e. I want it to come out of the plastic right at the "helmet holder" cutout on the left side of the bike. There won't be any power running through the cable, just the passenger intercom signal.
