On my way home from the dealer, I passed through a school zone. Had to slow down to 15mph. It felt as though the engine was going to conk out! really rough, uneven speed.

This is the first ride on the bike, so obviously, no break-in (1 mile on it at the dealer).

Is this normal or should I have the dealer check it out?

My 650's first ride was okay - only idle speed adjust at 700 miles.

AN650's gas tank is bottom fuel pumped.

Maybe > water in gas.

Maybe > dirt in gas.

Maybe > old gas.

You might need a 300 mile ride to work out of the system.

Ted,

I have a 250 Burgman it is like a little brother of your 400 ...

Mine does the same you may fine that it's more the CVT belt vibration and not engine thats makes it felt like the engine is about to fall out of the frame.

I had alot of trouble with mine till it had some miles on it ...

Have a read under 399cc and under heading ...

It's still not perfect at low RPM under full clutch lock up, but I guess that is the nature of CVT drive ... Belt wipe
